Two days to go and the suitcase is packed. Only one more day at work, and the list of things to do before I leave is getting shorter! Setting up this blog is one of them - not made easier by Jane and my nephew Joe playing each other all the different ring tones on their phones.
So far everything was going smoothly until I phoned Lin, who I am going to travel with. It was only when we realised that we thought we had to be at the airport at different times that we checked the tickets and found that the travel agent had booked us on separate flights, an hour apart. This must have happened when Lin changed her original return date, as we were definitely both booked on the same flight out originally - but he didn't mention it. She is going to phone to see if he can do anything about it, but I don't really hold out much hope. So instead of having each other for company we will each be on our own for a 12 hour flight to Johannesburg. Then we meet up to fly on to Blantyre, where my sister, Mari, will meet us on Saturday morning.
I have called this blog Malawi Zikomo as Zikomo (thank you) is one of the few words of Chichewa I have learnt, and apparently it gets used a lot!
I am so proud of you!
